When metadata.json has an empty database field and no beads.db file exists,
filepath.Dir("") returns "." which causes lock file operations to use the
current directory instead of the beads directory. This could lead to stack
overflow or unexpected behavior.
Add early validation in tryAutoStartDaemon to check if dbPath is empty and
return false gracefully, consistent with other early-return conditions.

The "Note: No git repository initialized" message now respects the
--quiet flag, preventing non-essential output in quiet mode.
Fixes#1080

The acquireStartLock function would recursively call itself after
attempting to remove a stale lock file. If os.Remove failed (due to
permissions, race conditions, etc.), the error was silently ignored
with `_`, causing infinite recursion until the 1GB stack limit was
exceeded.
Changes:
- Convert recursive calls to a bounded retry loop (max 3 attempts)
- Check removeFileFn return value before retrying
- Apply same fix to handleStaleLock which had the same issue
- Add test to verify function returns false when remove fails
Fixes the stack overflow crash that occurred when running any bd
command with a stale or problematic lock file.

On Unix systems, socket paths are limited to 104 chars (macOS) or 108 chars
(Linux). Deep workspace paths like /Volumes/External Drive/Dropbox/...
would exceed this limit and cause daemon startup failures.
This fix:
- Adds ShortSocketPath() which computes /tmp/beads-{hash}/bd.sock for
paths that would exceed the limit
- Keeps backward compatibility: short paths still use .beads/bd.sock
- Updates daemon discovery to check both locations
- Uses SHA256 hash of canonical workspace path for unique directories

When not in a git repository:
- Daemon startup now shows clear message immediately instead of waiting
5 seconds: "Note: No git repository initialized — running without
background sync"
- Added new doctor check "Git Sync Setup" that explains the situation
Doctor check now shows three states:
1. No git repo → Warning with fix: "Run 'git init' to enable background sync"
2. Git repo, no sync-branch → OK with hint about team collaboration benefits
3. Git repo + sync-branch → OK, fully configured

New wisps now use 'wisp' segment (e.g., gt-wisp-xxx) instead of 'eph'.
Detection patterns updated to support both for backwards compatibility
with existing gt-eph-* wisps in databases.

Wisp operations (mol wisp *, mol burn, mol squash) and commands operating on
ephemeral issue IDs (bd-eph-*, gt-eph-*, eph-*) now auto-bypass the daemon.
Since wisps are ephemeral (Ephemeral=true) and never exported to JSONL,
the daemon cannot help with them anyway. This eliminates the need to manually
add --no-daemon for every wisp operation.
Changes:
- Add isWispOperation() helper to detect wisp commands and ephemeral IDs
- Add FallbackWispOperation constant for daemon status tracking
- Insert wisp detection in PersistentPreRunE daemon connection logic
- Update error messages in wisp.go, mol_burn.go, mol_squash.go
- Add comprehensive unit tests for isWispOperation()
Analysis found these commands are dead code:
- gt never calls `bd pin` - uses `bd update --status=pinned` instead
- Beads.Pin() wrapper exists but is never called
- bd hook functionality duplicated by gt mol status
- Code comment says "pinned field is cosmetic for bd hook visibility"
Removed:
- cmd/bd/pin.go
- cmd/bd/unpin.go
- cmd/bd/hook.go
