9520e7a2e2 Extract normalizeLabels to internal/util/strings.go 
- Created internal/util/strings.go with NormalizeLabels function
- Added comprehensive tests in internal/util/strings_test.go
- Updated internal/rpc/server_issues_epics.go to use util.NormalizeLabels
- Updated cmd/bd/list.go and cmd/bd/ready.go to use util.NormalizeLabels
- Updated cmd/bd/list_test.go to use util.NormalizeLabels
- Removed duplicate implementations
- All tests pass

0b852f52d9 Remove obsolete renumber and stale commands, fix test 
- Remove renumber.go: Hash IDs eliminated need for ID compaction
- Remove stale.go: Executor/heartbeat tables were never implemented
- Fix TestListCommand: duplicate dependency constraint violation
- Update comments removing references to removed commands

77142e9db3 Improve cmd/bd test coverage from 21% to 26.2% 
- Add test for runCompactStats function (both JSON and regular output)
- Add tests for outputDotFormat and outputFormattedList functions
- Test dot format, digraph preset, custom templates, and error cases
- Coverage increased from 21.0% to 26.2% (5.2 percentage points)

Part of bd-27ea (multi-session effort to reach 40% coverage)

4ea347e08a Fix all test failures from bd-166 (missing issue_prefix) 
Completed bd-167: Fixed all tests that failed with 'database not initialized: issue_prefix config is missing' error.

Changes:
- Created test helper functions in 3 locations:
  * cmd/bd/test_helpers_test.go (already existed)
  * internal/rpc/test_helpers.go (new)
  * internal/storage/sqlite/test_helpers.go (new)

- Updated all affected test files to use newTestStore():
  * cmd/bd: comments, export, git_sync, label, list, reopen, direct_mode
  * internal/rpc: rpc_test, version_test
  * internal/storage/sqlite: sqlite_test, underlying_db_test

- Fixed config test: updated flush-debounce default from 5s to 30s

- Removed unused sqlite imports from test files

All tests now passing ✅

Also:
- Closed bd-167, bd-170 (cleanup of beads-* duplicates)
- Removed corrupt backup files

- Added testUserAlice constant for 'alice' in test files
- Added windowsOS constant for 'windows' in test files
- Added testIssueBD1/testIssueBD2 constants for 'bd-1'/'bd-2' in test files
- Added testVersion100 constant for '1.0.0' in version tests
- Added testIssueCustom1 constant for 'custom-1' in lazy init tests

94fb9fa531 Refactor high-complexity test functions (gocyclo) 
Extracted helper structs for 5 complex test functions, reducing cyclomatic complexity from 31-35 to <10:

- TestLibraryIntegration: integrationTestHelper with create/assert methods
- TestExportImport: exportImportHelper with JSONL encoding/validation
- TestListCommand: listTestHelper with search and assertions
- TestGetEpicsEligibleForClosure: epicTestHelper with epic-specific queries
- TestCreateIssues: createIssuesTestHelper with batch creation helpers

All tests pass. Closes bd-55.

8023a6cd6c Improve test coverage to 57.7% (+13.5%) 
Added comprehensive test coverage for previously untested commands:
- version_test.go: Plain text and JSON version output
- list_test.go: All filter operations and label normalization
- export_test.go: JSONL export with labels & dependencies
- stale_test.go: Duration formatting and stale issue detection
- comments_test.go: Comment management and error handling
- delete_test.go: Batch deletion helpers
- metrics_test.go: RPC metrics recording and snapshots

Coverage improvement:
- Overall: 44.2% → 57.7% (+13.5%)
- cmd/bd: 17.9% → 19.8% (+1.9%)
- internal/rpc: 45.2% → 45.8% (+0.6%)

All tests passing with no new linter warnings.
